small batch - big difference
Not all tea tree oil is created equal
AT OLIVE GAP ORGANIC FARM, WE VALUE QUALITY OVER QUANTITY AND ARE COMMITTED TO PRODUCING THE CLEANEST AND GREENEST AUSTRALIAN NATIVE ESSENTIAL OILS IN THE WORLD.
Tea tree is one of the top five most used essential oils.
Endemic to only a small area in Northern NSW & Southern Queensland, crops are now emerging all over the world. Despite this, Australia is still the leader in quality, with the strictest industry standards and more evidence-based research than any other essential oil globally.
But not all Australian tea tree oil is organic. Far from it. Conventional tea tree farms still rely on large amounts of herbicides and pesticides and use high-pressure distillation equipment, burning fossil fuels.
Our tea tree oil is different.
_______________
We produce artisan, small-batch, traditionally crafted pure essential oil. Our unique wood-fire distillation method means we produce our oils completely off-grid, and all our products are certified organic, regeneratively farmed and carbon positive.
As we follow the whole process on farm from bush to bottle, each batch has it's own unique batch number which is handwritten on each bottle and can be traced back to the very block it was harvested from.
Tea Tree is harvested annually, usually in late winter. Therefore every year is unique with a distinctive character and vintage. Think of it as "The single malt whiskey of the tea tree world", some years are dry, some wet, some smoky. The story of the seasons is infused into each batch, and we love to share its journey with you.
WHY REGENERATIVE?
We rotate cows around the blocks for natural weeding, as they love the grass but avoid the Tea Tree. Fertilising as they go, they are part of a closed-loop system that helps us to farm the land organically with as little footprint as possible.
Always striving to do better, we are implementing regenerative farming practices that will allow us to build soil carbon and nutrition, leaving the land better than we found it.
We are proud to be certified with ACO (Australian Certified Organic). We believe wholeheartedly in organic certification as it provides a support network for farmers and ensures we are kept accountable to the ethics of organic stewardship.
